Carolina Aricu is a Senior Associate in the firm’s business group. She focuses on the representation of emerging growth companies throughout their lifecycles, and counsels them on a broad range of legal and business issues relating to governance, fundraising, mergers, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and other corporate matters. She also has broad experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts and business agreements, including service agreements, confidentiality agreements, license and distribution agreements, website terms and conditions and privacy policies.
Ms. Aricu is co-author of the California Limited Liability Company Forms and Practice Manual, published by Data Trace Publishers, Inc., updated annually.
She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), holding the U.S. private-sector certification (CIPP/US) and the EU data protection certification (CIPP/E), granted by the International Association of Privacy Professionals. The CIPP designations are the global standard in privacy certification, and demonstrate a strong foundation in U.S. and EU private-sector privacy laws and regulations.
Prior to joining Niesar & Vestal, Ms. Aricu practiced in Paris, France as a Legal Counsel for a diversified European holding company, that owns, operates and deals with the corporate and financial management of world-renowned fashion brands. Her experience also includes working for two other prestigious law firms in Paris and at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (United Nations court of law) in The Hague, the Netherlands.
While attending law school at University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, Ms. Aricu was a member of the Berkeley Law and Technology Journal and of the Berkeley Business Law Journal. She holds a Certificate of Specialization in Law & Technology and a Certificate of Specialization in Business Law from the same law school.
